OnePlus 5 Receives its Very First Update OxygenOS 4.5.2; Promises Bug Fixes and Optimizations
After a week’s launch, OnePlus 5 is now receiving a software update over-the-air (OTA). Although the update brings no new features to the table, it promises several bug fixes and system optimizations. The patch is rolling out as Oxygen OS 4.5.2 and weighs around 36MB in size.
Early users of OnePlus 5 reported of having troubles while installing applications on their device. However, this bug is supposedly fixed in the latest update. Apart from that, the new update also improves the stability of the system, the network strength, and the Bluetooth feature. It also brings several optimizations to the built-in camera application as well as its compatibility with 3rd party applications.
As with every OTA updates, it may take a while before it reaches your device. However, you can always check for updates manually by visiting Settings -> About Device -> Software Update. Nonetheless, to say, you should make sure that your device has at least 60% charge before installing the update. Also, make sure you backup everything important on your device before hitting the download button.
The Chinese company is also making it easier for the users to report bugs in their smartphones. If you are a OnePlus user, you can simply head over to the official OnePlus Forum (https://forums.oneplus.net/feedback/) and report bugs as well as write feedback about your device.
Recalling the specs of OnePlus 5, it features a 5.5-inch Full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels) Optic AMOLED display. Under the hood is an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor, in which four cores are clocked at 2.45 GHz, while the other four at 1.9 GHz. Apart from that, the device is available in two storage variants – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.
On the camera front, there is a dual camera setup in the back with 16MP and 20MP sensors, while a 16MP front-facing camera takes care of selfies. A 3,300 mAh battery powers the device, and it supports Dash Charging technology. It runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Connectivity options of this dual-SIM phone include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE.
