Reasons and Solutions on Why Won’t Instagram Let Me Post?
Depending on the user, device, and Instagram profile, the problem could be related to many things. As a result, we will be sharing multiple solutions in this section so that you can try all of them and find the best solution among them.
As the heading suggests, the first solution we would propose is to restart your phone. It might seem obvious. But we have seen that this easiest solution has worked for a lot of people.
If the problem with Instagram posting is related to any temporary software issue, a simple restart might solve it fast.
Now, based on the model and brand of your android device, the process of restarting it would be different. But basically, in most cases, you have to press and hold the ‘Power’ button for a few seconds until the ‘Power Off’ and ‘Restart’ or ‘Reboot’ options appear on the screen. Then tap on the ‘Restart’/‘Reboot’ button, and your phone will restart. After that, check whether you can post on Instagram or not.
Fix #2 You Are Posting Too Many Images at Once
If you have created a new Instagram account, it is tempting to post a lot of images simultaneously. But Instagram doesn’t work that way. For some new profiles, Instagram might set a limitation.
As a result, you would not be able to spam multiple posts within a short period of time. So, if you find yourself posting too many posts simultaneously, it might be the case behind the issue.
For that reason, you should wait a few hours to post new images on Instagram. If you post too many posts at once, it will hamper your profile in gaining new followers.
Because your followers will find only your posts on their timeline most of the time, that might annoy them, and they will unfollow you to make their timeline clutter-free.
Fix #3 You Are Using Too Many Hashtags
Using hashtags in your Instagram post is a good way to attract other users to your profile. However, like most other things globally, excessive use of the hashtag is not a suitable way to post. Normally, Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags on a single post.
However, that doesn’t mean that you have to use 30 hashtags on every one of your posts. So, if you cross the limit of hashtags on Instagram, try to remove some extra hashtags. And, you should be able to post new posts on your Instagram account.
Fix #4 You Are Breaking the Rules of Instagram
Like most other popular social media sites, Instagram has a set of rules. And, you have to follow their rules and guidelines while posting on Instagram. For example, it is not allowed to post nudity, gore, violence, obscene, etc., images on Instagram.
They have set up bots that can recognize if you are trying to post banned content on their site. If you get caught in doing so, your account might get suspended temporarily. The suspension could go for up to 24 hours.
However, if you get caught up trying to post prohibited content multiple times, your account might get a permanent ban.
And this could be one of the reasons why Instagram is not letting you post new media files. It is always better to refrain from posting sensitive media on any social media site.
Fix #5 The File Size is Too Large
Many new Instagram users try to post images directly from their camera without converting them. You know Instagram has limitations of file sizes. For example, you cannot upload a file larger than 30 MB. Also, it is impossible to upload 2K, 4K, or UHD videos in most cases.
If your video is shorter than 10 minutes, then it must be under 650 MB. And, if the video is up to 60 minutes, then it must be under 3.6 GB. So, if you are crossing these limitations, you will not be able to post on Instagram.
It is always better to convert or resize your media files before uploading them to Instagram.
Fix #6 Problem with Your Internet Connection
You might not have thought about it. But it could be that your internet connection is not stable. Also, if you are using mobile data, check to see if you have any active data packages or not.
And, if you are using WI-FI, then you should check whether the internet connection is working or not. You can turn on and off the ‘Airplane Mode’ on your phone and connect to the internet again. This should fix any issues with the Internet connection.
Fix #7 Change the Data Saver Settings on Instagram
Did you know that the Instagram app has a ‘Data Saver’ function? It is there to reduce mobile data use if you are not using Wi-Fi. However, these settings might hamper posting new posts on Instagram via the Instagram app.
Based on your phone model and brand, the process of enabling and disabling the ‘Data Saver’ option could be a bit different. Still, we will share a basic guide on how to disable ‘Data Saver’ settings on the Instagram app here.

If you have been using an android device with almost full storage, it could be why your Instagram is not working properly. It would be best if you always kept some percentage of the total storage of your phone empty.
That way, your phone’s overall performance will not be hindered. So, if you find that your phone has little to no space left, you should delete some unnecessary files, media or uninstall some unnecessary apps to free some storage space.
Fix #11 Remove 3rd-party Instagram Related Apps
There are many apps that can post for you on behalf of you on Instagram. People use such apps for automating their social media platform use. However, it could be that those 3rd-party apps are interfering with the official Instagram app on your phone.
Also, it could be that you are using a buggy 3rd-party app related to Instagram. So, it would be good to uninstall those apps and try to post using the official Instagram app.
Fix #12 Your Account Might Be Restricted

Also, it is better not to spam or upload multiple posts in a little span of time. These could restrict your new account. If, unfortunately, your account becomes restricted, then you will have to wait it out.
